Music | MIA’s XXXO Burka: a Fashionable Statement?

M.I.A. recently wore a burka a to Spike TV’s Scream Awards. We aren’t used to seeing her so covered up, so she was clearly making some sort of fashion statement.

If you look closely, the print on the burka has the lyrics to her song “XXXO”. Watch the video below. So … she’s promoting her music through her clothes… Ohhh!

MIA, “XXXO” – The chorus goes “You want me be / Somebody who I’m really not”.

Rye Rye featuring MIA, “Sunshine” – MIA promoting her smarts, sporting a tee that says “Fuck Google, Ask Me”. Clever.
